Bailey Manor’s Taste of the Town
was “Yummy”

Bailey Manor tried a new venture this month with their first Taste of the Town: An Evening of Delicious Delights. Vendors and caterers were present from Laurens, Clinton, and Simpsonville.

The public only paid $5, and the vendors did not just give small samples. Tony’s Pizza and Pizza Hut gave full slices of pizza of many kinds and several types of wings as well. My Brown Box Bakery, run by Courtney and Til Culbertson from Laurens, had delicious cupcakes for sampling and for sale. One person came just to buy cupcakes from them. Pampered Chef representative Stephanie Taylor brought food and drink that she prepared in products from the Pampered Chef catalog. Yummy Yum Catering, run by Quinton Barksdale from Greenville, presented stew, fried turkey, mini cornbread, and cake balls.

Of course, Bailey Manor put out a spread as well. The kitchen prepared Santa Fe soup, spinach dip, teriyaki chicken, blackberry cobbler, pineapple casserole, fresh cookies, zesty party mix and pina colada cake.

Everyone who came got to vote for their favorite vendor. There was a tie for 2nd place between Pizza Hut and Tony’s Pizza. A plaque was given to 1st place winner Yummy Yum Catering.

Funds raised will go toward a therapeutic whirlpool for the residents. Thank you to everyone who made our first Taste of the Town a success.

Rita Stanley, Administrator, presents a plaque to Quinton Barksdale of Yummy Yum Catering in Simpsonville. He was voted the best vendor of the evening by the attendees.
